Sand BagDemonstrative Case

ACEBag™ for Artificial Pond Bank Restoration, Tainan, Taiwan

Initially, the pond bank was built with in-situ soil only without any reinforcement. After experiencing several typhoons, the soil at the bank of the Half Moon Pond was washed into the pond and it was all silted up.The pond bank was built with 2 meters high reinforced retaining wall with ACEGrid®, and double layer ACEBag™ were applied on the bank surface to prevent from rain eroding. In-situ soil was filled into the ACEBag™, and was further enhanced with green vegetation by hydroseeding. Decks were built at the side of the pond as recreational facilities for local residents and visitors. The reinforced pond bank has experienced several typhoons afterwards and still stays there firmly covering by vegetation and without any defect.
